Can Ciger Cig Kofte
If you ever find yourself in North London craving something fresh, filling, and packed with bold Turkish flavors, Can Ciger Cig Kofte on 773 High Rd, London N17 is the kind of spot that quietly earns regulars. It’s not trying too hard-it doesn’t need to. The food speaks for itself. This place is a solid go-to whether you’re stopping by solo after work, gathering with friends for a quick halal bite, or just hunting down a good late-night food fix that actually hits the spot.
Let’s start with the basics-cig kofte. This is what gives the restaurant its name, and they’ve nailed it. Their version is vegan, spicy, tangy, and served with crisp lettuce, fresh lemon, and thin lavash-everything wraps up perfectly in your hand. It’s got that signature Middle Eastern punch but without the heaviness, making it an ideal pick for quick bites or even a healthier lunch option. If you're looking for something hearty, though, the Mix Kebab 2 brings the grill party to your plate. Juicy lamb, perfectly-charred chicken, and a smoky flavor that’s hard to fake-it’s clear they treat the grill like an artform here.
Now, while kebabs are the crowd-pleaser, I’d argue that the lamb chops quietly steal the show. These chops aren’t the thin, chewy kind you sometimes get elsewhere. They’re thick, tender, and grilled just right to lock in flavor while delivering that slightly crisp edge. Pair them with a cold Efes beer or a glass of red wine-yes, they serve both-and you’ve got yourself a solid, satisfying dinner that doesn’t try to be fancy but ends up feeling like a treat.
Speaking of variety, what’s particularly striking is the menu’s range. You’ve got chicken grill that comes with just the right char and juicy interior. You’ll also spot Ciorbă De Burtă-a traditional Romanian tripe soup that may catch you off guard at first glance, but it's surprisingly comforting, rich, and packed with flavor if you're into bold dishes with heritage. It’s rare to see a Turkish-Romanian crossover menu in London, but somehow, Can Ciger Cig Kofte makes it feel totally natural.
Now let’s talk desserts, because skipping them here would be a rookie move. The cake slice selections rotate, but they often lean into indulgent classics-moist layers, sweet fillings, and enough sugar to finish off the meal with a smile. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch their chocolate cake or the pistachio cream roll. Whatever’s on that dessert counter, it’s usually worth a glance.
The vibe here is refreshingly unpretentious. The restaurant offers dine-in, takeaway, and delivery-so whether you want to sit down with friends or enjoy a kebab at home while watching Netflix, you’ve got options. The interior has that cozy, casual charm, and for those who need it, the venue is wheelchair-accessible with seating that accommodates comfortably. It’s also a rare find in the area that caters well to different dietary needs, offering vegan dishes, vegetarian options, and a full range of halal food-all without making a fuss about it.
And while some places might push coffee, here it’s tea that shines. They’ve got a genuinely great tea selection-think aromatic Turkish tea served hot in classic tulip glasses, and herbal blends that make for a relaxing pause during a busy day. It’s easy to underestimate, but it rounds off the meal in the most soothing way.
From a service perspective, Can Ciger Cig Kofte moves fast and friendly. It’s one of those places where you can walk in, order in under five minutes, and get your food steaming hot shortly after. There’s a flow to the way they operate, and it’s evident they’ve refined it through daily hustle. It’s also ideal if you’re flying solo-lots of regulars come alone, eat well, sip tea, and head out with full bellies and satisfied faces.
In a sea of London kebab joints, Can Ciger Cig Kofte doesn’t try to be the flashiest. But it is the kind of place you remember after one visit-and come back to without needing a reminder. Whether it’s the hearty lamb, the zingy kofte, or that final sip of tea that seals the deal, there’s always something quietly memorable about the experience.

Spent the evening here whilst waiting during a concert at the stadium. Turkish tea was the draw and didn't disappoint. Had mixed platter to share. The chicken doner meat was really tasty but rest were all good too, chicken shish, lamb kofte. Ordered cacık on the side too. Tap water provided when asked. The atmosphere before the show was of course buzzing. Then the clientele were more demure during the show- it was equally busy before and during. Service was very prompt but also relaxed - the perfect balance. More expensive than food elsewhere in the country, but then this was authentic Turkish food in a prime location so worth the price. Would recommend to families, or show attendees, friends on a night out.
It was the best kebab I've ever eaten. People who respect their job and love their job, the taste is very good.
My favorite place in UK for Adana Kebab. As a person originally from Adana, this place has the same taste of the meat and proper onion salad that goes with it. My choice is Adana wrap and it is always great. The owner is a very friendly and people’s person with smiles all the time. Price is very reasonable comparing to other places, even if it’s more expensive it worths for the kebab I have. Unfortunately I leave outside of London otherwise I will be eating at this place at least 3-4 times a week.
If you're looking for a quick bite, and with decent prices then this is a good place to eat. It happens to be across the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, so if you're thinking of eating before going to the Stadium to watch a match it might be better to go a bit earlier cause the place might be full of people and you might have to wait long until you're served. Other than that, I found it to be a clean place with good service and we didn't wait long to eat. Would definitely recommend it for a quick bite.
Great place with some amazing food and drinks. I am a big fan of their Adana wrap. Great for football days too and there is a beer garden at the back. It is rather pricey though.
